Our client, an industry leading manufacturer, had embarked on a comprehensive technology transformation that impacted accounting, design, orders-to-cash, proposal and quote generation, sourcing/supply chain, and travel and expense.
They knew they needed expert support to navigate transition solutions during the technology migration and program management for the various system implementations that included: (1) ERP: Upgrade accounting to latest version of CloudSuite Industrial (aka. Syteline) and expand system to order-to-cash and supply chain (2) Bolt on CPQ (Configurator, Pricing and Quotation) system powered by Oracle (3) Design Automation system powered by CDS Visual (5) Sourcing and Supply Chain Management bolt-on powered by Source Day (5) Travel booking and expense system powered by TripActions.
We provided program management as well as planning, budgeting and forecasting during all phases of implementation over a 2.5 year period. As program managers, we helped identify interim solutions to bridge the migration from legacy systems and streamline internal processes. We built workflow automation tools to model complex workflows and capture information-rich status updates and progress of key business functions. We aggregated information across systems and produced valuable decision-quality reports and key performance indicators, such as quote/order cycle times, design cycle times, backlog, financial operations metrics, and project schedules.
But the real magic happened when all the systems went live simultaneously (Big Bang approach) versus a phased implementation. While this approach front-loaded the technology benefits, it also brought bugs and improvements to the forefront. We helped manage and troubleshoot these issues, stabilizing the overall system.
