Client Overview
A Fortune Global 500 company subsidiary.
Deployed Capabilities
Transformation
Best Practices
Benchmarked Endur and ETRM strategies across 6 peer organizations, identifying best practices and upgrade pitfalls.
Validated Plans
Validated cloud migration and upgrade timing by comparing hosting models and system configurations.
Scalable Automation
Exposed scheduling and reporting, opportunities, reducing dependency on manual tools.
The
Challenge
Our client engaged us on a peer benchmarking study of its Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) systems, processes, and technology strategy. With a mature Endur platform supporting its North American natural gas and power trading operations, they sought to validate its system upgrade plans, assess scheduling and reporting gaps, and compare its approach to those of similarly structured industry peers. The goal was to ensure technology decisions, especially the transition to a cloud-based Endur environment, were supported by evidence-based insights and positioned to improve performance, scalability, and integration across front-, mid-, and back-office operations.

Custom
Solution
We deployed a multi-disciplinary team of research analysts, business intelligence specialists, and finance experts to execute a five-phase engagement:
- Peer Identification & Criteria Definition: We selected six peer companies based on product mix, system complexity, geographic reach, and market activity in North American natural gas and power trading.
- Structured Data Collection: Our team conducted in-depth comparative research, utilizing internal data from past projects, industry reports, public disclosures, and proprietary Sirius benchmarking frameworks.
- Comparative Analysis and Reporting: Using standardized criteria, we analyzed system design choices, upgrade practices, and support structures. We highlighted differences in system performance, customization burden, scalability strategies, and integration of scheduling tools like gMotion and Excel.
- Opportunity Mapping and Recommendations: The study concluded with a visual framework mapping the client’s current-state approach to peer strategies. We identified strengths, risks, and improvement areas across system design, upgrade planning, cloud readiness, and scheduling automation.
The
Impactful
