Sirius Solutions :: We'll Get You There

What is fair value? It seems like a simple question, but valuation (intrinsic or otherwise) is becoming a more demanding affair.  While always part science and part art, valuation is increasingly intersecting with conventional financial reporting measurements, and financial statements are becoming a mix of traditional historical cost and new basis fair value.   These measurements and disclosures are complex, standards are evolving and documentation requirements are time consuming.  More than ever, significant judgments and estimates are unavoidable long before the outcome of an event is known, coinciding with increasing expectations for transparency and accountability.  This trend will continue and accelerate.   As such, shaping fair value requires not only experienced quantitative modeling skills and capabilities, but a deep appreciation for the impact of fair value reporting regulations and disclosures on those determinations.

At Sirius, we have years of experience in dealing with fair value projects, from intrinsic business valuations to specific contract modeling.  We do not issue valuation opinions; rather we work alongside management in evaluating and building valuation positions and objectives while concurrently gauging the interplay of complex rules and disclosures.  We are objective in our work and come to a project equipped with the specialized tools and models for assisting management in its responsibilities for quality fair value determinations and disclosures.  Our depth of skills includes financial analysts, financial reporting experts, statisticians and industry specialists.  Additionally, we leverage our collective backgrounds in internal controls, tax, M&A due diligence, corporate finance, information technology and business unit integration.  Our experiences include building the most simple Excel models to complex Monte Carlo simulation exercises.
